I have come across a plugin like this in the past, but for the life of me I can't remember where or what it was called...

...May I make a suggestion?

Repost this article on Wordpress.org and they should be able to help you out.

I'm 99% sure a plugin exists to solve this problem.

Absolutely. I've gotten in the habit of covering those bases, so the sites I write now are pretty good at not allowing injection (had a friend try attacking xD).
Never trust the user! (Something a lot of Gaia exploits come from, trusting the user too much!)

I was fascinated to learn about SQL injections @ uni last year, and it really does nail the point home...don't trust anything that can be inputted!

Yes yes and SO YES. Pratchett's Discworld books can keep me entertained for hours. The subway trip flies by, the queue at the post office seems too short, and there are moments when I'll literally laugh aloud. Also, don't forget Anoia. The goddess of things inexplicably stuck in drawers.

Quite a touching poem you have there. Did a friend write it? Because I think it describes most online friendships very well.
